Authentic duas for protection from war in arabic graphic title

War brings fear, uncertainty, separation, and suffering. When facing conflict or danger, reciting authentic duas for protection from war in arabic  helps a believer turn to Allah for safety, mercy, patience, and relief.

In this article, I have gathered authentic duas for protection from war, enemies, fear, oppression, and calamity from the Qur’an and Sunnah. Rather than presenting an invented “special war dua,” I have included supplications that are actually found in the Qur’an or reported from the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in situations involving enemies, fear, hardship, protection, and seeking Allah’s help.

When facing hostile situations or fear of harm, reciting authentic duas of protection against enemies helps shield a believer’s heart and family from evil.

These duas can be read by a person who is directly affected by war or conflict, as well as by someone making dua for family members, innocent people, and communities facing danger.

Important: Dua should be accompanied by practical safety measures. If you are in an active conflict zone, follow trustworthy emergency instructions and move to a safe location whenever possible.

1. Dua for Protection From Enemies

One of the clearest is the dua the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used when he feared a group of people:

Arabic

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِي نُحُورِهِمْ، وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

Transliteration

Allahumma inna naj‘aluka fi nuhurihim, wa na‘udhu bika min shururihim.

English Meaning

O Allah, we place You before them, and we seek refuge in You from their evil.

This narration is reported from Abu Musa Al-Ash‘ari رضي الله عنه and is recorded in Riyad as-Salihin 1327, with the source identified as Abu Dawud and Ahmad. (Sunnah)

This short dua is especially relevant when a person is afraid of hostile people and asks Allah to protect them from harm.

2. Dua When Facing Hostile Forces

Another Prophetic supplication asks Allah, the Revealer of the Book and the One who defeated the confederates, for help against an enemy.

Transliteration

Allahumma munzilal-kitab, wa mujriyas-sahab, wa hazimal-ahzab, ihzimhum wansurna ‘alayhim.

English Meaning

O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Disperser of the clouds, and Defeater of the confederates, defeat them and support us against them.

This dua is reported in the hadith literature in connection with facing an enemy.

At the same time, the Prophet ﷺ taught believers not to wish for an encounter with an enemy. Instead, they should ask Allah for safety and, if they do face the enemy, remain patient.

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ عَضُدِي، وَأَنْتَ نَصِيرِي، بِكَ أَجُولُ، وَبِكَ أَصُولُ، وَبِكَ أُقَاتِلُ

Transliteration (Sound):

Allahumma anta ‘adhudi, wa anta naseeri, bika ajulu, wa bika asulu, wa bika uqatilu.

English Meaning:

“O Allah, You are my support and You are my helper. By Your help I move, by Your help I attack, and by Your help I fight.”

How to make duas for protection from war in Arabic with step by step guide

How to Make Dua for Protection From War

When making dua during frightening circumstances, try to keep both tawakkul and practical responsibility together.

1. Turn to Allah sincerely

Ask Allah directly for safety, mercy, protection, relief, and guidance.

2. Use authentic supplications

The Qur’an and Sunnah already provide beautiful words for fear, oppression, enemies, hardship, and calamity.

3. Ask for ‘Afiyah

The Prophet ﷺ taught believers to ask Allah for well-being and safety. Seeking protection is preferable to deliberately seeking confrontation.

4. Pray for your family and others

You can ask Allah to protect parents, children, spouses, relatives, neighbors, and innocent people affected by conflict.

5. Take practical safety measures

Dua should not be treated as a substitute for sensible action. During an active conflict, follow credible emergency guidance, seek safe shelter, keep essential supplies available, and protect vulnerable family members whenever possible.

6. Continue making dua

Fear can make it difficult to concentrate. Even a short authentic dua repeated sincerely can help a believer keep turning toward Allah.

Is There a Specific Dua for Bombing or Airstrikes?

There is no authentic Qur’anic verse or Prophetic hadith that specifically names modern forms of warfare such as bombing, missiles, or airstrikes.

Therefore, it is better not to claim that a particular modern phrase is a “Prophetic bombing dua” unless there is an authentic source for that attribution.

Instead, a person can use authentic supplications for protection from enemies, unexpected attack, severe calamity, fear, and oppression. The comprehensive dua asking Allah to protect a person from the front, back, right, left, above, and beneath is particularly relevant when asking for general safety.

Can I Make Dua for Peace During War?

Yes. A person may sincerely ask Allah to stop bloodshed, protect innocent people, safeguard families and children, bring relief to those suffering, and establish safety and peace.

You can also make personal dua in your own language. You may ask Allah for protection, healing, shelter, forgiveness, justice, guidance, and relief according to your circumstances.
