In this story, I will share with you the beautiful journey of Prophet Sulaiman (AS), a special prophet of Allah who was known for his incredible wisdom and great kingdom. He was also the beloved son of Prophet Dawud (AS)—if you haven’t read it yet, make sure to check out Prophet Dawud (AS) Story in English for Kids to learn about his father’s inspiring life.
Allah blessed Sulaiman (AS) with extraordinary powers, including the ability to speak to animals and command the wind and jinn. Yet, despite all his power, his heart remained humble and filled with gratitude to Allah. Let’s explore his amazing story together!
One day, Sulaiman (AS) gathered his army. His army included people, jinn, and birds.
They were traveling together in an organized group. Everyone had their own place in the army.
As they came near a valley, something surprising happened. A tiny ant saw the large army coming toward her home.
The ant quickly warned the other ants. She said, “O ants! Go into your homes so that Sulaiman and his army do not crush you without knowing.”
Sulaiman (AS) heard what the ant said. He smiled at her words. He did not laugh because the ant was small. Instead, he was thankful to Allah for allowing him to understand her speech.
Sulaiman (AS) made a beautiful dua. He asked Allah to help him always be thankful for His blessings. He knew that even a tiny creature could teach a great lesson. The little ant reminded him to be thankful and careful.
This teaches us that Allah knows every creature, whether it is large or very small.
After this, Sulaiman (AS) inspected the birds in his army. He noticed that one bird was missing. It was the hoopoe.
Sulaiman (AS) asked why the hoopoe was not there. Soon, the hoopoe returned with surprising news.
The hoopoe said that he had seen a woman ruling a land called Saba. She had a great throne and many people followed her.But the hoopoe also told Sulaiman (AS) something important. The people of Saba were worshipping the sun instead of Allah.
Sulaiman (AS) wanted to know if the news was true. He did not simply accept the information without checking it.
He sent a letter to the queen of Saba.
The letter began with the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Most Compassionate.
Sulaiman (AS) invited the queen and her people to turn to Allah. He told them not to be proud and to come to Allah in submission.
The queen received the letter. She was surprised by its message. She called her leaders and told them about the letter. She asked them what they should do.
The leaders said that they had strength and could fight if needed. But the queen wanted to think carefully. She decided to send a gift to Sulaiman (AS). She wanted to see what kind of ruler he was.
When the gift arrived, Sulaiman (AS) did not become excited about the treasures. He reminded them that Allah had already given him much more.
He did not want wealth. He wanted the people to know Allah. Then something amazing happened.
Sulaiman (AS) asked his helpers who could bring the queen’s throne to him before the queen arrived.
One powerful helper said that he could bring it before Sulaiman (AS) could rise from his place.
Then another person who had knowledge from Allah said that he could bring it even faster.
In a moment, the throne was placed before Sulaiman (AS).Sulaiman (AS) did not become proud. He immediately recognized that this was a blessing from Allah.
He said that this was a test to see whether he would be thankful or unthankful.
When the queen finally arrived, she was asked about her throne. She saw the throne before her and realized that something extraordinary had happened.
Sulaiman (AS) then showed her another amazing place. He had a palace with a floor that looked like clear water. When the queen saw it, she thought she was about to walk into water.
She lifted her clothing slightly to protect it from the water.Sulaiman (AS) explained that it was not water. It was a palace floor made smooth and clear like glass.
The queen understood that she was seeing something beyond ordinary human power. She realized that Sulaiman (AS) was not calling people to himself. He was calling them to worship Allah.
The queen admitted her mistake. She turned to Allah and submitted with Sulaiman (AS) to the Lord of all worlds. This was a great moment.
Sulaiman (AS) had a huge kingdom. He had people, jinn, birds, wind, and many other blessings.Yet his heart remained connected to Allah.
He knew that power was a test. Wealth was a test. Knowledge was a test.Even when something amazing happened, he remembered Allah.
Sulaiman (AS) also showed us that being powerful does not mean being proud.A person can have many blessings and still remain humble.
One day, Sulaiman (AS) was leaning on his staff while watching the jinn work. Allah had already decided that his life would come to an end.
Sulaiman (AS) passed away while leaning on his staff. The jinn did not know that he had died. They continued working because they could not see that he was no longer alive.
Later, a small creature ate away part of his staff. His body then fell down.Only then did the jinn realize that Sulaiman (AS) had died. This showed that the jinn did not know the unseen. Only Allah knows the unseen.
The story of Prophet Sulaiman (AS) teaches children many beautiful lessons.
