Knowing about all our prophets, their lives, and their work provides us with essential guidance, wisdom, and inspiration for our daily lives. Today, I want to share the Prophet Al-Yasa story in English to help kids and families learn from another remarkable messenger chosen by Allah.
Allah sent many prophets throughout history to guide humanity. Some prophets have long, detailed stories in the Qur’an where we learn about their families, struggles, and miracles. However, there are also prophets whose lives Allah has mentioned briefly, and Prophet Al-Yasa (AS) is one of these honored messengers.

Al-Yasa (AS) was a prophet chosen by Allah. He was one of the special servants whom Allah honored and guided.
The Qur’an tells us his name, but it does not tell us every detail about his life. And that is something very important for us to understand.Sometimes we may want to know everything.
We may ask, “Where did he live?”“What did he look like?”“What happened to him?”“Who were the people he taught?”But the Qur’an does not give us these details about Al-Yasa (AS).
So we should not make up answers.Instead, we can happily learn what Allah has told us.
Allah mentions Al-Yasa (AS) in Surah Al-An‘am.
Allah says that He guided many prophets, including Ibrahim (AS), Ishaq (AS), Ya‘qub (AS), Nuh (AS), Dawud (AS), Sulaiman (AS), Ayyub (AS), Yusuf (AS), Musa (AS), Harun (AS), Zakariya (AS), Yahya (AS), Isa (AS), Ilyas (AS), Ismail (AS), Al-Yasa (AS), Yunus (AS), and Lut (AS).
Then Allah tells us that He favored them. This teaches us something beautiful.Al-Yasa (AS) was not forgotten.
Even though the Qur’an does not tell us a long story about him, Allah chose to mention his name among His honored prophets.
Imagine a child sitting with a Qur’an and reading the names of the prophets.
There is Ibrahim (AS).
There is Musa (AS).
There is Dawud (AS).
There is Sulaiman (AS).
And then there is Al-Yasa (AS).
His name is there because Allah knows him.Allah knows everything about His prophets.
He knows every good deed they did.He knows every prayer they made.He knows every difficult moment they faced. He knows every person they guided.
Even when people do not know all these details, Allah knows them perfectly.
What matters is that Allah knows our hearts and our deeds.
Al-Yasa (AS) is also mentioned in another place in the Qur’an.
In Surah Sad, Allah says:
“And remember Ishmael, Al-Yasa, and Dhul-Kifl; all are among the outstanding.”
This is a very special description.Allah tells us to remember Al-Yasa (AS).
Why?
Because he was among the outstanding servants of Allah.
This gives us another beautiful lesson.A person may be known by people for many different reasons.
Someone may be famous because they are rich.Someone may be famous because they are strong.Someone may be famous because many people know their name.
But the greatest honor is to be honored by Allah.Al-Yasa (AS) was honored by Allah.
His name was placed among the names of noble prophets.
His name was preserved in the Qur’an.And Muslims continue to remember him whenever they read these verses.
That is a wonderful kind of honor.
As children, we sometimes want people to notice us.We may want our teacher to praise us.We may want our friends to think we are clever. We may want people to see when we do something good.
There is nothing wrong with being happy when someone appreciates us.But we should remember something even more important.
Allah sees us all the time.
If you help your mother, Allah knows. If you share your food with your brother or sister, Allah knows. If you tell the truth even when telling the truth is difficult, Allah knows.
If you pray when nobody is watching, Allah knows.
If you help someone quietly and do not tell anyone, Allah knows.
Allah knows every good thing.
The story of Al-Yasa (AS) helps us remember this.
We do not know all the details of his life. But we know that Allah honored him.And that is enough for us to respect and love him as a prophet of Allah.
Dear kids all the prophets were honored people. We should speak about them with respect. We should not invent things about their lives.
Allah has given us everything we need for guidance.
Sometimes Allah gives us a long story.Sometimes Allah gives us only a few important details. And sometimes Allah gives us the name of a prophet and tells us about his high position.
Al-Yasa (AS) is one of those prophets.
Kids, some of you might wonder or ask, “Why didn’t Allah tell us more about Prophet Al-Yasa (AS)?”
The answer is simple: because Allah knows what is best for us to know.
The Qur’an is not a book that tells us every detail about every person who ever lived.
It is a book of guidance.
Allah tells us the things that help our hearts become better and bring us closer to Him.
So when we read about Al-Yasa (AS), we can remember that being a good servant of Allah is more important than being famous.
We can also learn to be careful with what we say.
If we know something, we can say it.
If we do not know something, we can say, “I don’t know.”
And saying “I don’t know” is not something to be ashamed of.
It is better than telling people something that may not be true.
Al-Yasa (AS) may not have a long story written in the Qur’an.
But his name is still there.
His name has been read by Muslims for more than a thousand years.
So, dear child, remember Prophet Al-Yasa (AS).
Remember that he was a prophet of Allah.
Remember that Allah mentions him among the honored prophets.
Remember that Allah describes him among the outstanding.
His story in the Qur’an may be short.
But the lesson can stay in our hearts for a very long time.
