Prophet Yaqub (peace be upon him) was a righteous and devoted servant of Allah. He was the son of Prophet Ishaq (peace be upon him) and the grandson of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him).
Yaqub (AS) loved Allah very much. He taught his family to worship Allah alone and to always do what was right.
Prophet Yaqub (AS) had twelve sons. Among them, he held a deep and special love for Prophet Yusuf (AS).
One day, Yaqub’s sons became jealous of Yusuf. They took Yusuf far away and left him in a well. Then they returned home and told their father a false story.
Yaqub (AS) was deeply sad. He missed Yusuf greatly. But he did not lose hope in Allah.
He said, “So patience is most fitting. And Allah is the One whose help is sought.” (Quran 12:18)
Years passed. Yaqub (AS) continued to pray and trust Allah. His sadness became so great that he lost his eyesight from crying.
But even then, he never stopped hoping in Allah.
He told his sons, “Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy.” (Quran 12:87)
Allah finally reunited Yaqub (AS) with Yusuf (AS). What a happy day it was!
Yaqub (AS) learned that patience and trust in Allah are never wasted. Even when life feels difficult, Allah knows what we cannot see.
His story teaches children that we should be patient, keep making dua, and never lose hope in Allah.
